Katharine of Aragon and the Tyranny of Henry VIII

Presented by Jackson van Uden.

Katharine of Aragon is a Queen that looms large in the consciousness of many Tudor history fans, particularly in the minds of us from Peterborough. In this talk, Peterborough-based and raised historian Jackson van Uden looks at the life of Katharine of Aragon and the tyranny of her second husband, Henry VIII, that she experienced and witnessed throughout their 24 years of marriage and beyond.

Jackson is one of the Festival Directors and the Talks Curator of the Katharine of Aragon Festival in Peterborough. In 2024 he was named in BBC History Extra’s 30 Under 30 list as one of the best young historians in the country.

Visitors are very welcome to attend, for a fee of £3.
