Staw and String in Whittlesey
Our January meeting will take place this coming Thursday evening (12th January) at 7.30 pm. We’re delighted to welcome Brian Kell, with “43 years of Straw and String”. Brian is the founder of the Whittlesey Straw Bear Festival. He resurrected an ancient tradition and put Whittlesey on the map both locally and internationally. His work as a volunteer in the community was recognised in 2013, when he was awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM), in the Queen’s birthday honours list. The festival itself is taking place this coming weekend, so do leave the date free and support this local initiative.
