Who were these evangelical preachers who arrived from Europe in the early 1200s and settled in English towns? And what became of their magnificent churches, precincts and lands after the Dissolution in 1538-40?

Linda has also presented her findings of almost a decade of research into the history and lives of the Stamford friars in an illustrated book: ‘Grey Friars Or White Friars?”. She will have copies of her book on sale following her presentation on Thursday, priced at £25 and is happy to accept payment by either cash or cheque.

Visitors are very welcome to attend, for a fee of £3.
