Our Festive Entertainment

December 12th was the final meeting of the year and the evening of the annual social and festive entertainment of the Society. This year we were uproariously entertained by PODS the Peterborough Operatic and Dramatic Society with a festive seranading of well-known Yuletide songs, with a little extra slapstick thrown in by recruiting some of the audience.

Our member, John Dewis, vocalising the PODS version of The Twelve Days of Christmas. The result, by recruiting History Society members from the audience, was hilarious. Five Gold Rings became Five Toilet Rolls!

The festive buffet that followed and was provided by our members was once again an enjoyable time to feast and chat.

Eventually to wind up the evening and a fitting finale to the occasion, was the raffle. The table was laden with donated prizes including a good selection of bottles. This year the proceeds from the raffle was to be donated to the local charity, Little Miracles. A local organization that cares for and supports families and children who have life-limiting conditions.
