The 2018 Charity Event

The 2018 Charity event was held  on April 25th in the beautifully restored historic Knights Chamber, part of the newly created Visitors and Learning centre in the Cathedral Precincts. Instead of the usual afternoon and evening performance we opted for just the one program in the afternoon.   The event was well attended and successful.

The first talk was by our Member Rita Mackenzie who took us on a nostalgic look back  at the Villages surrounding our City as well as the Villages that have become part of the 20th centuries extended Peterborough.

After an interval where refreshments of wine or soft drinks were served our Chairman, Trevor Pearce, continued the afternoons program with an illustrated look back at the events that have happened during the last two centuries in and around the Cathedral and Market Square or as we know it today Cathedral Square.

A proportion of the proceeds from the afternoons event will be donated to the Cathedral.
